Social & Policy Oriented Computing Courses
Only one Social and Policy Oriented Computing course may count toward the elective requirement for the Computer Science major and/or the Computer Science minor. The following courses are examples of Social and Policy Oriented Computing courses:
- COMPSCI 240 - Race, Gender, Class, & Computing (cross GSF 242)
- COMPSCI 247S - Human Flourishing in a Digital Age (cross ETHICS 247S)
- COMPSCI 255 - Introduction to Cyber Policy (cross PUBPOL 255)
- COMPSCI 265S (formerly taught as COMPSCI 112S) - Digital Feminism (cross GSF 265S)
- COMPSCI 290 - Special Topics on the following subjects (some may not be offered regularly):
- Cinema Perspectives on Artificial Intelligence (Spring 2025, Fall 2025)
- COMPSCI 342 - Technical and Social Analysis of Information and the Internet
- COMPSCI 390 - Special Topics on the following subjects (some may not be offered regularly):
- The Ethics and Philosophy of Artificial Intelligence (away at Oxford, Summer 2025)
