Class of 2025
Majors in Biomedical Engineering and Computer Science

I'm interested in the intersection of medicine and technology, specifically in the role of big data and AI/ML in healthcare and precision medicine. I currently work in the BIG IDEAs Lab in the BME department as an undergraduate research assistant where we use wearable devices and their data to develop machine learning pipelines to predict physiological conditions. I'm also a TA for CS 216: Everything Data and was previously a TA for Egr 101! After graduation, I hope to pursue a PhD in BME/bioinformatics to continue to develop tools to improve healthcare and healthcare access across the board. Outside of class, you can find me with my a cappella group (Rhythm & Blue!!) rehearsing in Biddle and performing across campus, or soaking in the Durham sunshine on BC Plaza.

Favorite Class: My favorite class was definitely BME 290: Ethics of Bioengineering! We spent the semester discussing the ethical dilemmas surrounding various emerging and existing biomedical technologies, and the class was a really good balance of the technical and ethical issues within biomedical engineering. Sometimes it feels like we learn about engineering in a vacuum, and this class provided a really meaningful opportunity to think more critically about and discuss the larger implications of the technology and tools we build.
